I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Usually authors in this genre tend to spend so much time creating the back story and setting the stage that the reader ends up skipping half the story but the way it was done was seamless and flowed perfectly. The male characters are funny hunky and believable. The female lead was not whiny or annoying. She was strong and pushed through the crap life handed her instead of staying so focused on it. Loved getting to know the characters for future installments but doesn't take away from the main focus of the hero and heroine. I highly reccomend this bookProduct details

Well, then... This book... Where do I start? I think I might still be blushing! Hot scenes, multi-dimensional characters and a strong voice, LJ Vickery expertly delves the reader into her world of Immortals. If you haven't read any of LJ Vickery's stuff, you need to go get some now (ha, ha, pun intended).
I have to admit when I first started reading this book I didn't think I would like it, but I was surprised. I didn't think I would like a book about God's. I didn't know what to think. And trying to get past some of the names was hard. I like names I can pronounce. But getting past all of that , the book was really good. And I can't wait to read the next one.
There is a lot of exposition here that is necessary to a first book in a series like this, but in between, there is a lot of action, humor, and some mighty hot love scenes, too. The characters are well developed and the plot original. I'm loving these gods, and I'm looking forward to reading more in book 2. Thank you, Ms Vickery, for a really good read.
I'm not a big paranormal fan, but honestly. You've got to read this book. It captures your attention from scene one with truly drool-worthy gods who only get better. Poor Tess doesn't stand a chance once she lays eyes on the sinfully glorious Marduk, aka Mr. Magnificent. LJ Vickery nailed it! Her descriptors are clever and her dialogue witty. She's created a world of amicable, yet deadly, three-dimensional characters. I just pre-ordered book three in this series and... I. Can't. Wait.
I didn't want to put it down! Paranormal at it's finest! It's grabs you from the beginning and leaves you wanting more. Suspenseful, and just when you think you have it figured out.....BOOM! This is the first book in the series, and I can't wait to dive into the next installment!!!
Who knew deities could be so relatable? Immortality and god powers aside, they just want what we all want- friends, family, and the hot bodies from our youth. Of course once you have a hot body it would be a sin to let it go to waste. These characters deliver on all fronts, and occasionally on their backs too.
I discovered this series at book 5 so I think I may feel a little differently than those who read it the right way, but I really loved this story. I had some spoilers in my head, of my own making since I read them out of order. But this story sucked me quickly and kept my attention. It was longer than I usually read but didn't drag on at all. Maruk made me long to find my own hunky god man. Tessa was a well expressed character. The supporting gods/characters are really fun to read, each with his own distinct personality.
